Potential new teams for next season, Vamps, Elves, ???
« on: February 09, 2013, 12:45:25 PM »
I'm thinking of starting a new team next season and here are my options:

Vamps:
http://thunderbowl.ca/tbsn/index.php?section=objhandler&type=1&obj=2&obj_id=247
Dark Elves:
http://thunderbowl.ca/tbsn/index.php?section=objhandler&type=1&obj=2&obj_id=321
or Wood Elves:
http://thunderbowl.ca/tbsn/index.php?section=objhandler&type=1&obj=2&obj_id=328#aanc

I wanted to try vamps due to my namesake and the Elves because I havent played an ag4 team much (mostly because of the expensive attrition problem).  Any thoughts and/or suggestions?

Elves are awesome.

Run away and use the double line defence. Go dark elf I could go on forever on how fun that team is.

Vampires are awful but Keller and jmac were pretty successful with them.

I think you will find, in hindsight, that you would have preferred to start your vamp team with four re-rolls even if you had to sacrifice a vampire to do it. (You'll definitely need them and you might as well pay half price while you can.) If you can get over losing players and feel comfortable always playing with less players than your opponent, they're a fun team with loads of options.

While I like the starting roster for your DE team, I would be nervous to buy a witch elf without an apothecary. (That doesn't mean I wouldn't do it.)

I am not a fan of woodies (especially in public) but hey, play with whatever you want.  :D :P :D

The other thing to remember is that rerolls can't be killed.  :)

The plan with the Witch Elf was a little radical but I was going to play her in the cage as the dump off target for the runner and keep her out of harms way and not attack with her (just keep the frenzy threat in the opponent's mind to keep the sides clear) and then score at least 2 TDs with her in the first game and hope for enough to buy the apoth, get Block on her and then use her on the attack in the next game.
