Spike! 2011 Pre-registration
« on: June 24, 2011, 11:44:28 AM »
Thunderkrunch 2 is done, so now the pre-registration for Spike! Magazine 2011 can now begin. I wanted to start it last week but I've been swamped at work lately. All the info you will need starting off can be found below. All tournament rules can be found @ http://spiketournament.com/

Things that have been added or changed from last year's event:

01. 1.1M Team Build + Skill Package: 1.1M to buy your players/inducements ect. plus the 6,5,4 skill package on top of that. Full rules can be found on the website.

02. Painting/Sportsmanship Scores: Revamped completely to eliminate 'chipmunking' in overall scores.

03. Blow-out Bonuses: The TD bonus for a 2+ difference has been reduced to +2 points from 5. Also, we have added a Blow-out Casualty bonus, same criteria, same +2 points.

04. Best Defence Award: We've added an additional award this year called "The Wall" for the coach who let in the least amount of touchdowns. So along with Spike! Champion, Coaching, Sportsmanship, Painting, Touchdowns For, Casualties For, Best Stunty, and Dead Last we are giving away 9 awards this year that look like this:

All of the following info can be found in our NAF posting as well as found on the website:

Spike! Magazine 2011 Blood Bowl Grand Tournament
Dates: Saturday, September 10th, and Sunday, September the 11th, 2011

Location: Compass Point Inn
Address: 9850 King George BVLD, Surrey, B.C.
Hotel Website: http://compasspointinn.com/
Accommodations: Mention the Spike Tournament when booking a room at the Compass Point Inn and receive the Corporate Rate.

Time: 8AM Registration Saturday

Contact: Craig or Mike
Email: thunder-bowl@hotmail.com or PM me (generaljason) here.
Web: http://www.spiketournament.com/

Additional Information:
- $40 pre-registration or $50 at the door
- NAF member discount for registrations at the door
- 6-game Swiss Resurrection TV 110
- Door prizes from local and online stores
- Count Luthor 2011 model to every participant

We have a picture of the model and it looks awesome, but we don't want to post it until it's in our hands and Blammaham has a chance to paint it. But here's a picture of the concept art - the model looks virtually identical:

Vancouver is still kicking butt, Seattle has a serious community now, Edmonton still has a great contingent that we love to see every year, and Oregon is now joining the ranks for the Pacific North West Blood Bowl scene. Now if we could only get Calgary going again...

Going to be great Spike! this year so be sure not to miss out. $40 pre-reg plus a free Count Luthor 2011 figure to every participant. Looking forward to seeing you there. :D

Craig.

How long until he gets the fig in his hands. Doesn't it take weeks to a month to cast after the mold is done?
I would 16 turn foul my mom, so don't be shocked when I do it to you!!!!

Wait, I mixed that up. It takes weeks to make the mold. :D Anyways, any idea how long until you can post it? I saw the pic and the fig looks amazing. I take back anything I ever said about miniatures for give aways .....and Steve's mom.

Hey guys, as of this morning there are only seven (7) coaches pre registered for SPIKE, four of whom are from the States.  (Most notably, Dennis B from LA, the organizer of WCQ).  This means there are only three Thunderbowl coaches registered. ???

If we want to entice more coaches to travel to this event we have to look like we have some local support for it.  You don't have to pay when you pre register, although it's a nice touch if you do, but if you are going - register!
