Match: FN Givers (1) vs. Full Death Metal Jacket (1)

League Results - Thu, 02/02/2012 - 23:00
FDMJ Induced an Igor and a Misc Mayhem (Hometown Fans), neither of which were used. FN Givers were home and they controlled the field in the first half although the injuries flew back and forth. In the second half, FDMJ managed to move the ball around in their own end looking for an opportunity downfield but the givers managed to get a runner in to uphill blitz Venom, the strong ghoul with the ball but couldn't quite capitalize due to FDMJ's good defensive positioning. They managed to get it back after some stuggles and field clearing on both sides but the tables turned near the end with a fatal failed block (double skull, re-roll, double skull). FDMJ capitialized and move the ball out of reach and then proceeded to remove 3 more player and clinch the tie.

Match: Wholly HighstepperZ (2) vs. Pond Scum (2)

League Results - Mon, 01/23/2012 - 15:46
PS Inducements=200K 2x Bloodweiser Babes(50K) = 100K 2x Dirty Tricks(50K) = 100K Total = 200K Weather The sun was out, for Nice BB weather. Kick Off Results T1 (WH) Riot(Clocks move up) T5 (WH) Brilliant Coaching(Tied) T6 (PS) High Kick T9 (PS) Riot(Clocks move up again!) T12 (WH) High Kick(again?!) T16 (PS) Brilliant Coaching(Tied again?! OK, something's up here...) Classic Slann vs Slann matchup but with grinding defences setup to produce turnovers. Bad dice for Dr. Evil held him to crowding the Wholly HighstepperZ for most of the game, but Strip Ball'r specialist on Pond Scum kept making it interesting. Poor Jump Rudy PS#9 was absolutely obliterated(KIA!) by WH Blitzer, #5, DigEm for transgressions of Frog Kind. The loss of so many Guarding Catchers and Blitzers and Linemen on Pond Scum was costing them dearly and so Dr. Evil tapped his Apothecary to stitch Rudy up. The cross-eyed Doc did so, but put the poor bastard's legs on backwards(-1AG on a Catcher, ouch!)!!! Feeling left out, newly renumbered WH #15 HypnoToad finally woke up and put his Piling On skill to effective use - taking out very strategic Super Star's on the other Slann team Pond Scum were close to making the game 3-1 in their favour after again tackling WH's Catchers that thought they were safe, but a quick recovery led to WH's tying things up against the wily Coach of Pond Scum. It wasn't the win, they were hop(p)ing for *ahem* but a tie was a better showing than the 4-2 trouncing WH took in their first match against PS! Thanks for the avail today, Simon! Enjoy the Soccer game, and Go(ld) Canada GO(LD)!

Before the game, housekeeping of the previous game vs the Annoying Goofs was done in front of DAD. Skill rolls were all normal rolls for WH #1 and #3 and the MVP for that last game ended up on WH #14. Skills selected were Side Step on Catcher #1 and Strip Ball on Catcher #3. SFC Inducements=430K Wilhelm Chaney = 240K J Earlice = 180K Total = 420K Weather The sun was shining, for a nice day. Kick Off Results T1 (WH) High Kick T6 (SFC) Blitz for WH T9 (SFC) Perfect Defence for WH T15 (SFC) Changing Weather(Nice) T16 (WH) Quick Snap DarkAngelDave's dice were not happy with him all night. When fouling a Slann Catcher(AV7) with 3 or 4 assists the poor Nuffle-cursed coach snake eyed out without any harm to the prone amphibian! This was early in the game(T3?). Remarkably, Blood Lust was not to be too much of a concern for his Vampire slutty vixens. Then again the TD scored late in T16 was a mixed message of sorts. Coach Comb'Eye'Uhhh of the Slann team wanted to kick the ball off the pitch as a show of honour for a hard luck game after previously having his team clear the pitch of all but 4 Vampire players to waltz in a defensive touchdown... The scatter was straight back up the pitch as has occurred in WAY too many games to count this season versus bouncing out when the coach counts out 6 squares in from the line of scrimmage's corner! Perhaps blessed instead of cursed with all the unluck their team had in their first C-League season that saw 9 Bone-Heads by HypnoToad in their first game vs MacPhee's Lunch Money! Or maybe it was the Triple Skulls, RR(made it with Loner!) Triple Skulls that HypnoToad ended a final turn that could have seen a Blitzer score to tie those conniving masked faces of Bear's Bad News Beards! Whatever the case may be it surely was looking grim as the final turn of the game for SFC would require a GFI(1, RR, Made it but the RR was now gone~!) from the deep sideline of one side of the pitch to Pass(3+, Short) the Ball to induced Star Werewolf Catcher(?!) Wilhelm Chaney(3+), from there to somehow Blood Lust(2+) Dodge(2+) and HypnoGaze(4+?, 1TZ) a Diving Tackler just slavering for a chance to trip up the much needed Blood Lust(2+), Dodging(2+) Blitz from #13 Tracy "Double Penetration" Lords whom was just the recipient of a Hand Off play(3+ Catch, 1TZ) moments before. There was a much needed follow up INTO a tackle zone for the Blitz or the drive would have halted one more movement away from the end zone so ANOTHER Dodge(2+) later followed by 2xGFI's(2+, 2+) and Miss Lords wiped off some kind of frothy spittle that nobody knew about before the play started! Oh Tracy! You Whore! A TouchDown...AND you did that while everyone's gaze was on the play upfield!? What a Star(let)! ***** Great game where DAD made it out in the pouring rain, late at night, to entreat a gimp with a game that really meant nothing besides the SPP and skill ups. Thanks DAD, you're a gentlemanly scholar to be sure!

Match: Cruor Madidus (3) vs. Full Death Metal Jacket (2)

League Results - Fri, 01/20/2012 - 21:37
Nice weather throughout and the crowd was completely supportive of the Cruor Madidus. Kick offs: the first four were Quick Snaps then Perfect Defense followed with Assistant Coaching last. Match: Plainsmen (2) vs. Dwarblin Dentaurs (1)

League Results - Wed, 01/18/2012 - 22:12
DD Inducements: Apo (10) and 5 cards (25). Plainsmen MNG reduced to BH due to end of season. Plainsmen score quickly. On ensuing DD drive Plainsmen recover ball but skilful use of various Dirty Trick cards lead to DD recovery and T8 TD. DD drive in second half collapses when ball carrier fails a GFI and KO's himself in the process. Ball then bounces out of bounds and is thrown by the crowd deep into DD backfield where Blitzer Captain Kirk recovers and takes deep. Despite getting blitzed off the ball on the next turn he dusts himself off, dodges away and picks up the ball in the endzone for what proves to be the winning TD. DD end of game drive stalled by surprisingly successful use of SS, Fend and SF, culminating in a rare Plainsmen interception by Thrower Ron. A close and exciting game that could have gone either way.

League Results - Wed, 01/18/2012 - 19:48
Majyk the game report indicates your player 11 got the MVP although there is not one for this match I can select. Also your player number 17 rolled 5+3 for skill up. Wedge, yeah that was due to having 11 players so I'd said we'd just roll down the line by player total. That's when I exclaimed my fun when it turned out my Assassin got the MVP since he was my last player. I have since renumbered my roster so I could actually roll a D16 and taking whatever number was rolled. Thanks again!

Match: Jundheim Ice Lords (0) vs. Dwarblin Dentaurs (1)

League Results - Wed, 01/18/2012 - 15:42

Get a blitz and throw all 4 card and wizard in the firs 4 turns. 0-0 Tie at half. Dentaurs have to fight. For a the TD. Tough and fun game.

Match: Nottingham Forest Falcons (3) vs. Sidereal Essence (3)

League Results - Mon, 01/16/2012 - 23:04
Good Weather, No Inducements. Another classic match and tie between coaches Dr. Evil and Rude Slay. Dr. Evil won the Cheering Fans and Brilliant Coaching rolls(at least 3)as well as Throw a Rock stunning S.E. Blitzer Raj Zandilaro. S.E. Line-elf Karis Silverdawn was MNGed by NFF Line-elf Emerion Dlaresryl(thankfully, in effect reduced to BH by the lengthy recovery time). S.E. Line-elf and kicker Olo Valentine put his kicking boots to work BHing NFF MVP Blitzer and all-around nuisance Sulaost Nelethiel to keep the numbers close with S.E. players repeatedly visiting the KO box. The S.E. players however were not content to collect pine with a test of High Elf accomplishments on the line. Coach Evil was flummoxed by the tenacity and dedication of the S.E. players. The fans wanted a winner and the resulting tie resulted in erosion of both teams' fan base. Sidereal Essence remains a hard luck team earning just the minimal compensation for the match and still short funds to hire a 12th player. On the plus side, S.E. Thrower Javiero Trueheart remembered how to throw the ball and S.E. Catcher Varos Dreamweaver proved again why he is destined for the HOF. NFF Thrower Nenestan earned his first skill(normal) while NFF Line-elf and kicker Revestan earned his second advance(normal).

Team news by Plainsmen

League Results - Sun, 01/15/2012 - 16:17
Plainsmen name Team Captain After playing 51 games the Plainsmen are going to stand down indefinitely. But not before remedying a long standing oversight - naming a team Captain. Having played in 48 of the Plainsmen's 51 games, and having almost made the ultimate sacrifice twice (each time brought back from the dead by the Plainsmen's APO) blitzer Kirk was the Plainsmen's only 5 skill Blitzer (Blodge, MB, Frenzy, Juggernaut, SF). Kirk avoided the fate of no less than three (3) of his Plainsmen Blitzer confreres, each of whom were killed as soon as they had Tackle and MB - sigh. (How the Plainsmen would have fared with a deadlier set of Blitzers will be one of those endless BB debates.) Fittingly, in the Plainsmen's final game against the Dwarblin Dentaurs Kirk not only got 2 SI (both Ag-1), he also scored the winning TD. Kirk had the distinction of being the only Plainsmen to have a bounty on his head (a certain Underworld coach was chagrined by one of Kirk's first kills), a bounty that will go uncollected. So in recognition of his unequalled contributions to the Plainsmen, his longevity, and his ability to inspire his teammates to greatness, Coach Gimli is pleased to announce that Kirk is now "Captain Kirk".
